Actor Marlon Brando, biography of a tragic girl idol

For a long time, the actor Marlon Brando was the typical Hollywood girl idol. A master of the white canvas who trained at the famous Actor’s Studio with one of the disciples of the famous director Konstantin Stanislavsky. Brando, however, was a deeply tormented man who never succeeded in being content with himself.

Many have written biographies of the actor Marlon Brando. Some are largely fictional, while others are more real. One thing they all usually agree on, though, is that this wonderful actor was tormented.

Brando was a revolutionary actor. He was deeply involved in art and did not have much left over for commercial films. In addition, he strongly influenced other actors such as Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Jack Nicholson and his good friend Johnny Depp.

His shaky childhood

Marlon Brando was born in Omaha (Nebraska, USA) on April 3, 1924 into a wealthy family. His father, his name, was a producer who never recognized his son’s talent. His mother was an actress who worked in local theaters. Historians say she suffered from bipolar disorder. Apparently Brando saw her coming and going from the house with many different men, some of whom were violent towards her. Both his parents were alcoholics.

Marlon was extraordinarily good-looking already as a child. In fact, it is said that he deliberately neglected his appearance in order to reduce the impact he had on those around him. He was also expelled from several schools because of his indomitable spirit.

Some have hypothesized that he, from a very young age, had a tendency to physically punish himself. This could have been a form of rejection of his good looks. Or maybe it was an extreme form of manifestation of his father’s rejection of him.

Actor Marlon Brando had a brilliant career

In 1943, Brando moved to New York, where his two sisters, whom he adored, lived. There he signed up for acting courses with Stella Adler, Stanislavsky’s disciple. When she first saw him, she asked, “Who is this tramp?” He replied “Marlon Brando”. Two weeks later, he was her favorite student.

Those who knew him then said that he was passionate about acting but always had an aura of sadness. He loved his mother deeply. In fact, she was the one who originally inspired him in his attraction to art. At the same time, he wanted to see her escape from his father, who showed her no respect.

It is said that before he went to New York he spent a lot of time dealing with his mother’s alcoholism. In fact, he spent nights looking for her at the local bars. Once he had to take her home naked after she had choked off and forgotten where she had left her clothes. Perhaps it was such experiences that gave his achievements such a unique depth.

Fame and decline

Marlon Brando was first a successful stage actor. Then he came to Hollywood where he triumphed in all his films. But interestingly, there were not so many of them. During all his roles , Brando carefully studied the psychology of the characters he portrayed so that he could interpret them in all their complexity. In fact, he was meticulous in his depiction of every gesture and movement. In fact, he once played a sick man who was attacked and in the middle of the scene, many thought he was really the victim of an assault.

He was already known when his mother died in his arms. It is said that when he realized she was dead, he took a lock of hair and a ring that she always wore and then walked along the streets for several hours in confusion. Later he began to gain weight and became overweight. He also neglected his appearance. This led to him being ignored by many directors.

Brando was followed by an entourage of women wherever he went. Still, he claimed that all his girlfriends were friends with each other. He married three times and bought an island in Tahiti. There were many highs and lows during his career. In fact, he eventually claimed that he would only accept a role if he was paid astronomical sums of money. In several interviews, he claimed that he could not love anyone.

Brando was also an activist for the rights of Native Americans. It was for this reason that he declined one of the Oscars that he was awarded during his career. It is said that he ended his life in poverty and lived on government subsidies. He died on July 1, 2004 in Los Angeles.
