5 Lessons That Will Make You Stronger

5 lessons that will make you stronger

Being strong does not mean having the ability to lift weights as a bodybuilder; instead , it is the ability to confront all the circumstances of our lives. It may sound quite idealistic, but it is possible to get the strength needed to overcome all obstacles.

It is not enough to be aware and have confidence in our abilities; we also need to know how to use them when needed. At the same time, we must work hard to develop new abilities that can help us become stronger.

Pay close attention to the expectations you have of people, events and yourself. Excessive optimism is not always a positive thing because it can create frustration if the task is not completed.

Instead of completely changing and becoming a bone-hard pessimist, you can see life through a more realistic lens. Undoubtedly, this will not only enable you to achieve your goals, but also avoid the vulnerability and pain that bad news or disappointment can inflict on you.

Remember the following life lessons. These lessons should be kept in mind by all people who want to become stronger, more proactive and more aware:

1. There may be no tomorrow

What does this mean? Should we think we will die soon? Not at all. What is important, however, is to remember that the only thing we “certainly” have is the present. The past has already happened and the future remains uncertain.

Maybe you think this is a rather sad lesson, but if you push your feelings aside and think about it, you will notice that it is completely true. Do not plan for tomorrow when you do not know whether it will come. Better to focus on what is happening today.

You can also think about the future, but do not let that stop you from living in the present.

2. Life is not easy

Who said it would be? We can not achieve anything if we do not sacrifice anything, work hard and move towards what we want.

Only a few people in the world are “lucky” not to have to do something while others serve them. But is this something you really want to achieve? Think long and hard about your answer…

If you build your existence day by day, you will become more aware of the things you have achieved and what it costs to be happy. When something bad happens to you or if you are going through a “difficult time”, you will remember that the effort you made was worth it. Understanding this reality is a great way to become stronger.

3. It is impossible to control everything

Being immersed in our comfort zone is the closest we have to just staying in mom’s belly… safe, warm, full, satisfied… Get out of your shell!

Conformity and security are for the weak. Do you know why? Because they are not proactive enough to take a single step beyond what they know. They are not trying to change their destiny; they are happy to achieve a little instead of making an effort and earning a lot.

To be informed is not to be wise

What do we gain by spending an entire meal just listening to the news on TV? “Being informed” is the first answer. And what does this mean? “Knowing what’s going on.” Are you sure?

Life is more than weather reports, changes in the economy, politics, royalty and sports. Not to mention the bad news, such as robbery, murder and injustice! If you do not take this information and use it to start a voluntary organization or to fight hunger, it will not help you in any way.

It is important to cultivate yourself with texts whose purpose is to improve and expand your inner strength. Self-help books or those on philosophy are good examples.

5. We can not change the past

The time machine has not yet been invented, so we can not go back a few years. And what purpose would it serve if this were actually possible?

One of the ways to become stronger is to learn from your mistakes. What you have done is done; it is impossible to change it. It is up to you now to take advantage of this lesson and not let it happen again.

Furthermore, one of the meanings of this life is that if we were born again, we would make the same decision and fail in the same way. There is no reason to regret; act instead on your lessons!
